30-day Song Challenge

4/30

A 30 day long list of prompts to share a song.

Day 1
A song you like with a color in the title

2025. March 16.

Okay, So this one was actually pretty hard. Are there many songs with colors in their titles and I just don't have any? I immediately thought of one when I first read the prompt, but because that's a kpop song (and I'm planning a purely kpop song challenge later, so I don't want this one to be overrun by them) I thought I'd look for something else. It was pretty hard!

But, I'm deciding to go with one that's not only an absolute classic, but also incredibly fitting to the theme of this website.

Blue Bird by Ikimonogakari | Youtube link | Youtube Music link

I used to watch Naruto when I was still a kid. So young in fact that I watched it on regular TV, when they decided to air it. Dubbed. It was A Time. Later when I wanted to listen to the openings, I thought I was going insane because every time I clicked on a video that was like a compilation of every Naruto opening, the first one was just never the one I remembered. Turned out different countries had their own openings?? At least the Hungarian and the German openings are... well... something else.

But anyway, this is about Blue Bird. One of my favorite openings Naruto ever had. As I said, it's a classic. It definitely deserved the hype it got. I also just love Yoshioka's voice. Nothing else to add.

Day 2
A song you like with a number in the title

2025. March 17.

This was even harder than the color one, but these two are the only challenging ones, really.

Number Nine by T-ARA | Youtube link | Youtube Music link

I don't really have a comment to this one. Love this song, that's it.

Day 3
A song that reminds you of summertime

2025. March 18.

Summertime is fun in theory, but I really can't stand it. I can't even tell if it's because I got older, or if it's the global warming. Anyways, here's the song:

Wind Szörny by Dolly Roll | Youtube Music link

When we were learning about Hungary 1957–1989, my history teacher brought up this band and song. He even sang the iminimi szeminimi juvapcsu vaminimi part, which probably stuck more than literally anything else he tried to teach, but alas. He brought it up, because during that time, Hungary had a very strict censoring policy on popular music. According to this random article (hungarian) the Commission that was judging the songs and whether or not they could be published rejected 800 songs out of 1200 and sent back 300 for lyrics-revision in 1971. This was the environment that songs like Wind Szörny could thrive: the lyrics are mostly nonsense. Iminimi szeminimi juvapcsu vaminimi doesn't mean anything, Wind is randomly in english, and the song is mostly about this wind monster (whatever that is), and that it... brace yourself... exists. And that the neighbors' dogs are learning to scream from it. It really is just a silly song with silly lyrics that to me has a summer feel to it. And this is why my teacher brought it up – these were the type of songs that weren't censored. These were the songs that passed.

And I still listen to this. I like silly songs, and this is what summer feels like, if it's not unbearably hot...

Day 4
A song that reminds you of someone you'd rather forget

2025. March 19.

I was wrong. This one was hard too. I mean, I do have like one (1) person I'd rather forget, I guess, but I don't really have songs that remind me of them? Or the ones I had are songs I already forgot about? Anyways, I found one song that does remind me of them in a somewhat weird way.

Bite My Tongue by You Me At Six ft. Oli Sykes | Youtube link | Youtube Music link

So the deal with this song is that I literally never remember it. I can never remember the artist, that it has a feature, I can't remember the title. Sometimes I remember it exists, and I'm just like wait, what was that song, the one with the guy with the blue eyes and the MV is dark and blue?. That's what I'm working with every single time. You know how hard it is to find a song with only this? Pretty hard. But for some reason, I can always find it. This time I found it by searching found it in my chats because I scream about it every time I want to find it. No one can ever help me, but when I miraculously find it, I always, once again, scream about it and send the link.

How it reminds me of this person? That's also funny. They actually recommended me the band, but I'm not sure if they recommended this specific song too. Because the thing is, I never remember that. Never. Not once. Like, when I was trying to think of one, I was like oh, this one is fun, because they literally have nothing to do with this song, it just randomly reminds me of them and then I open the mystery link so I can look it up, and I see the band name and I go wait a minute.... The connection is there but the information isn't lol.

Anyways. I will be back to this site when I'm looking for the blue eyed guy singing in the dark and blue MV once again. Mark my words. Hi future me!
